The difference between authentic Christians who follow Jesus, and those who follow religion are clear to see. For the last 2000 years there have always been people willing to die for Jesus. In WW2 Christians, hid Jews from the Nazi's knowing that when they would be found they would face the same fate as those they were trying to protect. There are eyewitness testimonies about this. Read Corrie Ten Boom's "The Hiding Place" and "The Pastors Wife" by Mrs Warmbrand

Thoughout Catholic church history, authentic believers were burned at the stake by those who followed religion instead of Jesus. Read "Foxes Book of Martyes"

Today you will find authentic believers risking life and limb to live out thier faith in love and mercy. You will find more Christian charities than any other religion in the world. In my very small new church we have many charities. Since the church is new we are just putting some together.

We are working to provide love, support, clothing, and companionship in an 80 bed convalescent hospital where the elderly have been forgotten. Some have no clothes but for what they came from the hospital in, gowns with no backs to them.

We have a group of mothers who provide love, support and resources to young mothers. My mom is making recieving blankets. she is a 76 year old ex JW.

You can bitch all you want about how evil and cruel Christians are and how they are the cause of all the world's woes all you want if it makes you feel better. Evil people have used religion for evil. Authentic Christians have given glory to Jesus Christ by a life of love, giving, and mercy. The road is narrow when you look at the big picture, but not the way the WT uses it.

Matthew 25:42-45 for I was hungry, and you didn't give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink; I was a stranger, and you didn't take me in; naked, and you didn't clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn't visit me.' The difference is that you are confusing followers of religion with authentic followers of Jesus.

there are so many new posters here now, i think this topic should be revisited.

i believe the most ridiculous belief that witnesses have is a "slave class" made up of 144,000 give spiritual "food at the proper time".

why can't jws see thru this??

Matthew 24:45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

Verses 45--51. This passage is in fact a parable, though it is not
expressly so called. The design is to show that his disciples should
act as if they were each moment expecting his return. This he
illustrates by the conduct of a servant who did not expect his master
soon to return, who acted with great impropriety, and who was
accordingly punished.

Verse 45. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, etc. By the
conduct of a faithful and wise servant he intends to denote a faithful
Christian, a servant of God, or a teacher of religion.

Whom his lord. His master. It has no reference to God. It means the
lord or master of the servant. Applied to Christian teachers, in the
spiritual meaning of the parable, it refers to Christ, who has
appointed them as teachers, and who is their Lord and Master, Joh
13:13-14.

Over his household. His family. Christian ministers are the servants
of God appointed over the church, the family of Christ, 1Th 5:12-13;
1Co 3:5; 4:1; 12:28.

Meat in due season. The word meat here means food of all kinds.
When the Bible was translated into English, it included, as the
original does, all kinds of provisions requisite to support and nourish
life.

In due season. At the proper time. As they need it, or in the
accustomed times. This was the office of a steward. Among the
ancients this office was often filled by a slave--one who had shown
himself trusty and faithful. The duty was to have a general
superintendence over the affairs of the family. Applied to Christian
ministers, it means that they are to feed the flock of God, to minister
to their wants, and to do it as they need it, Joh 21:15-17; Ac 20:28;
1Co 4:1-2.

There has never been any controversy concerning this passage, not in the 2000 years since it was written except for the Watchtower tweaking it to glorify themselves in the perverted way they do.

My oldest son found me this morning!!!

i've looked for him for 16 yrs.

and he found me this morning.

:) there are 8 and my oldest son has the only two g/sons that i have.. we were lost to each other before i left the wts, because when i lived in california and he lived in colorado springs, we both moved at the same time and we each had unlisted numbers.. i'm very, very pleased and excited.

Is there a God that CARES ?

i was born with believeing parents, so automatically, i assumed that there was a god because my parents told me so.. when i was young, i prayed before going to bed and said thank-you for all that i had.. later in life, i realized that what i had came from my parents, not necessarily god.. today, i still believe in god, but i wonder if he cares.. there is something worse than no god.

it's a god that doesn't care and doesn't answer prayers.. when you look at the world as a whole, and see all the suffereing and injustice, you don't ask yourself if there is a god, you just wonder if he cares.. .

My life has been a testimony to the fact that God cares. He has given me so many gifts. I am a living miracle. Though He has not interfered with the nature that He created and sin (decay) destroyed, He has fixed me many times.

My DNA is mutated thus I suffer with disease. (Second Law of Thermodynamics~Entropy) But He has healed much resulting illness, given me a home, food, family and friends. God has proven his love and care for me many times over.

I believe if we all look around at the circumstances in our lives we can "count the blessings" He has granted us. The greatest blessing is yet to come, yet I am content if this is the best it can get, His presence in my life today is sufficient.

Often I will hear people say but look at those people how they suffer. Yet if you were to talk to those people you often find that they do not blame God, so why would we on their behalf? We can't know how those who suffer personally view their losses and pain.

just musing..... wouldn't it be an odd world if God was always here babysitting us..?

My adult children sometimes do things that if I could I would do anything to stop them, but I know I can't interfere with their lives.

I can and do tell them what is right and what is wrong and how what they are doing ultimatly will cause them future pain. Do I not love them because I do not physicaly follow them around and try to force them to do right? They would have me commited.

There is evil, yes some great evil in the world. Evil and unforseen natural tragedies. Maybe they are allowed as wake up calls, or to stimulate humans to self sacrifice. Death is wretched sad but a fact of life. We will all die. So to me death is not always a tragedy, it is a passing from the physical to the spiritual.

God could be here babysitting us if He wanted...

but I think it would be wierd...

The answered prayer

john 14:12 "most assuredly, i say to you, he who believes in me,the works that i do he will do also;and greater works than these he will do, because i go to my father.13"and whatever you ask in my name, that i will do, that the father may be glorified in the son 14:if you ask anything in my name, i will do it" .

i understand that we ask for our prayers to be answered through jesus name as jesus is the amen.many will give a different answer to this question from the trinitarian/non trinitarian viewpoint.jesus says here that he will answer your prayers if you ask in his name.

does this mean it is ok to request from jesus during the prayer.

Perry isn't communing with our Maker the sweetest gift! Obediance is vital, to Him not to any religion. His presence is enough yet He gives so much more then even Himself.

Answered prayer is a regular occurance my life. We seek His perfect will, ask for Him to light our path and He does.

There was one time that He did not answer the cries of my heart, and that was to change my ex husbands ways. He was mean and abusive and I did not want a divorce but wanted him to change.

I now understand that all things really do work together for good because after many years alone I have been blessed with the kindest most loving attentive man I never even imagined existed.

God will never force anyone to seek Him, thus He did not force my ex husband to change.

The Watchtower teaches a warped non Biblical view of the nature of God the Father. They put the rules and regulations on God's love, not the Bible and not most other mainstream churches.

A healthy relationship with the Father is encouraged, one of love and respect.
